Live From the Apple Watch Event

It’s time for another Apple event, but this time we’re expecting details about a new product category for Apple: smartwatches.

Things kick off at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Apple will live-stream its event via apple.com/live, but only to other Apple gadgets. You’ll need a device running Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later, Safari on iOS 6.0 or later, or a second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later.

Cupertino unveiled the Apple Watch last fall, but we still don’t have a firm launch date or all the details about pricing. Apple said its smartwatch will start at $349, but the company is offering three versions of the Apple Watch: standard, sporty, and luxury. There have been several rumors about how much that high-end (or Edition) Apple Watch will cost. If you’re really into bling, though, you can pre-order a diamond-encrusted Apple Watch for $30,000.
